This workshop will focus on introducing participants to the world of digital accessibility and explain the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). We will take you through the importance of digital accessibility for people with and without disabilities, as well as providing you with an insight into how to approach accessibility and where to start.
This workshop has been designed for communications professionals and those responsible for publishing documentation for wider audiences. We will focus on introducing accessibility requirements relevant to your roles, including text, colour and presentation of information. We will also cover considerations for different written and multimedia communication formats.
As part of this workshop we will focus on providing you with the tools and knowledge needed to make sure your visual content and designs deliver a high quality experience for 100% of your audience. This will include comparison of web versus printed media, and illustrate the journey your users will take with your designs.
Our web development workshop will focus on helping you understand how to build accessibility into the beginning stages of any project. We will look at the best ways to utilise WCAG techniques to develop accessible layouts, interactive features and also other web content. Finally, the workshop will also include a deep dive into writing code for accessibility and how browsers display the code you are writing.
This workshop will introduce the concept of website conformance testing against WCAG standards. We will focus on the best techniques to use when testing websites for accessibility, the purpose of all Level A and AA success criteria, and how to approach both manual and automated accessibility testing.
As part of this workshop we will focus on introducing participants to the principles for implementing accessibility into mobile applications. We will cover the best approach for ensuring accessibility is built in to features on both iOS and Android Software Development Kits (SDK), and how to design, develop and test accessible custom controls across mobile applications.
Learn how to get started with testing iOS/Android mobile applications against WCAG 2.1 success criteria. This workshop will provide you with the knowledge you need to confidently test mobile applications by understanding the purpose of each success criteria and how to efficiently evaluate them, as defined by W3.
This workshop allows you to tell us about 3 specific accessibility challenges you are facing so that we can put together a tailored workshop that focuses on training you to overcome them.
