Overview 

As part of this workshop we will focus on introducing participants to the principles for implementing accessibility into mobile applications. We will cover the best approach for ensuring accessibility is built in to features on both iOS and Android Software Development Kits (SDK), and how to design, develop and test accessible custom controls across mobile applications.

  • An introduction to experiences for users with disabilities and mobile users

  • How to get the most out of Google/Apple user interface guidelines

  • How to design, develop and test custom controls

  • Accessibility basics such as labels and roles

  • Best practice design principles and code patterns

  • How to incorporate accessibility into your APIs

  • Testing approaches for iOS/Android applications

  • How to use XCode/Android Studio Development environments
